About Whit's Writing
Ever since my parents put a comic book in my hands to keep me busy at the bowling alley, I’ve been a voracious reader of fantasy, snatching up any kind of swords-and-sorcery book I could find. I started writing my own stories in junior high school to explore characters and situations through my own lens, and found it was a ton of fun.
In the early 90s, I searched for a particular kind of story and got frustrated when the books I bought didn’t fit my vision. I began writing my own epic fantasy, bringing my love of fantasy and martial arts training together in the kind of tale I truly wanted to read. Once I got started, I enjoyed it so much that I couldn’t stop!
I love characters who are capable of great things when pushed to their limits, those who don’t want to be heroes but can't be anything else. I love villains who are so awful that you want to reach into the pages and strangle them. And I enjoy extraordinary characters who use intelligence, magick, and determination to protect those they care about.
My goal is for you to lose yourself in my stories for a while, cheer for the heroes and boo the villains. Maybe you’ll catch some feelings here and there as well, but in any event, I hope you enjoy yourself. 😊

About the Author
When he was twelve years old, Whit McClendon walked into a Kung Fu school for the first time, and fell in love with the hard work, punches, kicks, and ancient weapons of martial arts. He knew that one day, he would open his own martial arts school so he could share the art he loved. After a foray into the oil and gas industry, Whit left the cubicles behind and opened Jade Mountain Martial Arts in Katy, Texas and never looked back.
